COURSE DESCRIPTION
A survey of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, designed to help the student to learn the central ideas and themes of the Bible; to become familiar with its chief persons, places and events; to become aware of the types of biblical literature; and to develop the ability to study the Bible effectively.
LEARNING RESULTS
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
• Understand the central ideas and themes of the Bible
• Be familiar with its chief persons, places and events
• Study the Bible effectively
• Have an awareness of the different types of biblical literature

INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND LEARNING
The subject matter of this course is the entirety of God's written Word, which
is both the foundation of our faith and the standard by which that faith must
be regularly measured. The persons, events, and doctrinal themes studied should
all contribute to the continuing development of the student's biblical faith.
To determine if the course learning results have been attained, students document their learning by submitting the following items:
• 13 assignments = 100 points each (80% of course grade)
o Spiritual Formation Question in each assignment worth 5 points
o Two assignments will include a Bible Study Project (1 Old Testament, 1 New Testament) each worth 50% of that assignment
• Final Exam = 20% of course grade
LEARNING EVALUATION
The average of all lesson scores will be 80% of your final course grade. There will be one (final) exam to be taken after you have completed all the required assignments. The closed book exam will constitute 20% of the final course grade.
