COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is a study of the books of Joshua through Esther, with emphasis on biblical history, geography, chronology, and spiritual implications.
LEARNING RESULTS
At the conclusion of the course, the student should be able to:
1. Recognize the general content of the twelve Old Testament history books.
2. Follow the flow of Old Testament history from the conquest and settlement of the "Promised Land" (under Joshua) to the restoration (under Nehemiah) following the Babylonian captivity.
3. Identify the people, events, and locations that are significant to Old Testament history.
4. Understand the basic principles involved in writing biblical history.
5. Apply the spiritual lessons from Old Testament history to developing an intentionally biblical worldview and to living a distinctively Christian life. REQUIRED TEXTS AND MATERIALS

INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND LEARNING
The integration of faith and learning is readily apparent in this course as
the historical books of the Old Testament are being examined. Direct study of
the broad themes, personalities and major events within the historical books
will take place.
