COURSE DESCRIPTION
A historical study with particular attention given to the missionary expansion of the early church, the work of the Holy Spirit and the place of the church in the world.

LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to:
• Explain the different views concerning the date of Acts and give reasons for their own conclusion.
• Outline the argument and literary structure of the book of Acts.
• Place the book of Acts within its Geographical and Chronological setting.
• Articulate some of Luke’s purposes in writing the book of Acts.
• Identify abiding principles in the book of Acts and apply these to modern questions.

INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND LEARNING
The book of Acts deals with questions that are of continuing relevance to the modern church. We have tried to raise some of these practical questions to the forefront at various points. In particular, the ministry of the Holy Spirit has been considered not only in its first century setting but in relation to today. Also, the student has been asked to relate Paul’s missionary strategy to modern day evangelistic methods.
