COURSE DESCRIPTION
A continuation of BUA 241E Accounting Principles I. Accounting problems and procedures pertaining to corporations are studied. Also studied are various accounting procedures and reports used by management in acquiring fixed assets, budgeting and controlling manufacturing and departmental operations, reporting financial conditions, and analyzing the results of operations. Prerequisite: BUA 241E.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
The student who successfully completes Accounting Principles II should gain an increased appreciation for and understanding of basic principles of accounting. Specifically, students will:
a. Communicate the “big picture” of financial accounting.
b. Analyze economic events from an organizational perspective.
c. Identify key issues in accounting for corporations.
d. Perform certain accounting processes unique to corporations.
e. Describe the purposes of and perform certain accounting for bonds.
f. Describe the purposes of and perform certain accounting for debt and stock investments.
g. Create a statement of cash flows, identifying its purposes and uses when making financial decisions.
h. Explain the differences between financial and managerial accounting.
i. Perform basic functions of managerial accounting.
j. Use financial ratios to analyze the current financial realities of organizations.
k. Examine the role of one’s Christian faith and its impact on the challenges, decisions and opportunities met in accounting.

GRADE COMPOSITION
Grade Composition: Student performance will be evaluated on all work completed and submitted during the course. The final grade for this course will be determined as follows:
Learning Assessment:
• Exam # 1 (chapters 13-15) - 100 points
• Exam # 2 (chapters 16-18) - 100 points
• Exam # 3 (chapters 19, 22) - 75 points
• Exam # 4 (chapters 23-24) - 75 points
• Final Exam (comprehensive) - 125 points
• Individual Assignments - 350 points
• Individual Project - 125 points
Total - 950 points
