COURSE DESCRIPTION
Exploration of how ethics shape the concept and practice of leadership and policy making in organizations, including the role of values in ethical decision making and determining the moral obligations of leaders and followers. Emphasis is on critical analysis and application of ethical principles to contemporary leadership dilemmas in organizations.

LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to:
• Develop definitions and principles of democracy, ethical behavior, power, and transformation leadership, which are consistent with the needs of organizations.
• Interact with the daily tensions and ethical dilemmas involved in contemporary organizational leadership and develop a framework for resolving them.
• Discuss the underlying reasons for the current movement toward democratic, ethical and transformational leadership in a wide range of organizational contexts.
• Analyze at least one contemporary organization in terms of principles of democracy, ethical behavior, power and transformational leadership.

INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND LEARNING
First, learners interact with societal issues facing the church.

Secondly, learners will attempt to evaluate scriptural integrity in light of societal problems.

Thirdly, learners are provided an opportunity to analyze their religious code of ethics and its relationship to church and society.

Finally, learners are afforded an opportunity to conduct research on the integration of faith and learning on this subject.

LEARNING DOCUMENTATION
• To determine if the course learning results have been attained, students document their learning by submitting the following items:
• Paper on ethical issues facing the church.
• Paper on the leadership review.
• Paper on setting up an ethical system.
• Case-study paper on an ethical dilemma in your organization or church.
• Research paper regarding a particular aspect on ethics in leadership and/or society.
