COURSE DESCRIPTION
A course designed to analyze the ethical dilemmas described in case studies of managers in private and corporate businesses. Studies include philosophical foundations for Christian ethical model applications and the development of ethical dilemma resolution. Particular business ethics issues are studied that are realistic and relevant to many business professions.
LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to:
• Identify basic ethical philosophical lines of thought.
• Analyze business ethics case studies in both an organized and logical
manner.
• Develop an understanding of the role and relationship between your personal
and business ethics.
• Relate the acquired knowledge to his/her own business experiences.
REQUIRED TEXTS AND MATERIALS
• Ferrell & Fraedrich, Business Ethics : Ethical Decision Making and Cases, 6th ed. (New York, New York: Houghton Mifflin,2005).
• Review weekly national and local newspapers and periodicals for business ethics articles.
• Utilize the Internet and your local library for updated information on business ethics issues.

INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND LEARNING
The integration of faith and learning for this learning agreement occurs in
at least two ways. First, you will be challenged to examine how your Christian
commitment is reflected in both your personal and business life. Secondly, you
examine the conflicts that can occur between your personal and business ethics
with legal requirements.

To determine if the course learning results have been attained, students document their learning by submitting the following items:
• Paper on your personal ethical basis.
• Case analysis methodology
• Paper on decline of ethics in society
• Paper on cultural interaction
• Case studies
