COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is an introduction to the topic of E-commerce. We will look at how business is transacted on the internet. This includes ecommerce web site design and Internet payment methods. In addition, we will look at how traditional business models and technology have adapted to meet the needs of the Internet medium. Security and ethics will also be addressed in this course.

LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to:
• Identify the unique features of E-commerce technologies and their business significance
• Identify the Key ingredients of E-commerce Business Models, Internet technology concepts and the contributors behind them
• Describe how the WWW works
• Explain the process used to build an E-commerce website
• Understand the scope and potential impact of E-commerce crime and security problems
• Describe the major types of B2C digital payment systems
• Understand the basic concepts related to online privacy
• Understand the various forms of intellectual property and the challenge of protecting intellectual property

INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND LEARNING
The integration of faith and learning for this course occurs in a couple ways. First, there is a devotional included with each assignment where you can reflect how the Lord has affected your personal and business life. Second, the concept of ecommerce is seen in the scripture and is evident in the behavior and interaction of people online. Throughout the textbook and in our daily work lives, we are constantly aware of the challenges to our moral and ethical values. Hopefully, these challenges will cause us to rediscover the roots of our beliefs.
