COURSE DESCRIPTION
An exploration of the juvenile justice system and process with an in-depth analysis of the moral, social and psychological antecedents of juvenile crime and delinquency. An examination of serious crimes by juveniles, focusing on both prevention and treatment.

LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to:

1. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the juvenile justice system.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the historic development of the juvenile justice system, where it is today, and where it is headed.
3. Gain a fuller understanding of some of the causes of juvenile delinquency.
4. Examine several innovative approaches to juvenile justice.
5. Develop a biblical basis for ministry with juvenile offenders.
