COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introductory course and workshop in the instruction and practice of writing non-fiction and scriptwriting. The course is taken through a partnership between Christian Writers Guild (CWG) and TUFWO. This course utilizes the third section of the CWG Apprentice level course (chapters selected from lessons 25-38) and is adapted for a semester-based time frame. Guest students may request a six-month extension if needed. Prerequisite: ENG313E Article Writing I and ENG314E Article Writing II or permission of instructor LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to: • Understand the writing craft as it pertains to writing works of non-fiction and screenplays.
• Gain an understanding of different styles and techniques of non-fiction writing and screenplays.

Through a collaborative agreement between CWG and TUFWO, the third section of the “What’s Your Story?” writing course offered by CWG can be taken for academic credit through Taylor. The integration of an authentic Christian faith and writing skills in a multitude of venues is stressed in this course. Emphasis is placed on developing excellent professional writing and strong critical thinking skills, and working with integrity and high ethical standards.

Several revisions of selected book and screenplay assignments Note: Several chapters included in the CWG course workbook are not included in assignments for this course; however, we recommend you read over these sections for your own benefit and understanding. LEARNING EVALUATION
The student works through the third section of the “What’s Your Story?” course by submitting assignments given at the conclusion of each lesson and additional academic track readings . These lessons are graded by CWG mentor-professors who are experienced writers and teachers. At the conclusion of the course, your work will be forwarded to Taylor University by CWG for grade confirmation and any necessary work evaluation. A final grade will be entered on an official Taylor University transcript. Registration is handled by TUFWO. Once you register, TUFWO will contact Christian Writers Guild and your course materials and instructor/mentor information will be sent to you by CWG.
