CMI220E Personal Evangelism (3 credits) 9334
COURSE DESCRIPTION
A study of biblical ways and modern methods to share the gospel in the context of the church’s commission to reach unbelievers and to develop witnesses.
LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to:
• Describe five biblical principles of personal evangelism.
• Identify five examples each of Jesus' and Paul's approaches to personal evangelism.
• Explain five different approaches of sharing one's faith to others suggested by five different authors writing on the subject.
• Actively participate in personal evangelism and analyze and reflect upon that personal evangelism experience in light of new learning on the subject.
• Evaluate the personal evangelism program of a local church or university campus program after participating in the program actively.

The integration of faith and learning for this learning agreement takes place by the nature of the course. After the learner examines the biblical materials and the guidelines provided by the textbooks she is guided to practice "faith sharing" in two settings that impel her to integrate the content with the experiences. This course allows the student to 1) actually participate in personal evangelism, 2) examine the biblical basis for personal evangelism, 3) analyze a faith-based evangelism program, and 4) read/interact with Christian textbooks.
LEARNING DOCUMENTATION
To determine if the course learning results have been attained, students document their learning by submitting the following items:
• Report indicating that the three textbooks have been read.
• Paper analyzing each of the textbooks.
• Paper studying and evaluating two instances of personal witnessing in the New Testament.
• Journal describing an individual experience of sharing your faith.
• Paper evaluating a program of faith sharing in a local church or in a university campus
LEARNING EVALUATION
Evaluation is on a point system:
