COURSE DESCRIPTION
An analysis of the principles of biblical worship. Including a strong focus on the role of music along with a study of creative worship alternatives and the development of curricular writing skills.
LEARNING RESULTS
The aims for this course are five-fold:
• To assist you in discovering and appreciating the true nature of biblical worship.
• To help you analyze the various dimensions of the authentic worship.
• To examine practically how to lead a congregation of believers in the art of worship.
• To introduce to you a variety of liturgies and worship expediences that can be used within our present churches.
• To gain a more comprehensive "Knowledge of the Holy" as His character is revealed to us through the revelation of the divine name. Note: In this class there will be a consistent emphasis upon knowing God by studying the names of God. It is very difficult to worship a God you don't know, with whom there is only a superficial relationship. Therefore, since God reveals Himself to man in the Old Testament via His various names, such a study is profitable for all who desire to worship in a biblical manner. Nathan Stone's book, The Names of God, will be used to stimulate the student to become involved in the meditation of some of the fascinating names that direct us to a fuller "knowledge of the Holy".
