COURSE DESCRIPTION
An introduction to the subject matter and methods of psychology. Emphasis is given to the integration of psychological science and the Christian faith.

LEARNING RESULTS
The learner will be able to:
• Define and differentiate between various psychological perspectives.
• Discern how the psychological perspectives influence the collection and interpretation of psychological data.
• Understand the importance of the history of psychology on the discipline today.
• Recognize various psychologists and their influence on the discipline of psychology.
• Understand important psychological concepts.
• Apply psychological concepts to practical situations.
• Evaluate certain psychological theories in light of biblical revelation.
• Think about various psychological issues that Christians are concerned with.

INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND LEARNING
The integration of faith and learning in psychology is an integral part of the discipline and is commonly referred to as the interaction between psychology and Christianity. I have chosen a number of readings that will direct the student toward an understanding of the influence that faith can and does have on the discipline of psychology. It is also noted that there are various perspectives Christians have on psychology and these issues are noted in the readings as well.

LEARNING DOCUMENTATION
Learning will be documented by response to both “thought” questions from the main text and “thoughtful” questions from the supplemental readings. The materials should be submitted in the following order.
