Taylor Web Site Migration Update
I apologize for the lack of recent updates. Between the conferences mentioned earlier, end-of-year vacations, the events surrounding the van accident, and a delay in our project (see below), we haven't had many updates to post about.
That ends today. :)
As of last week, the Taylor Web site contained content delivered from both LCMS v2 and LCMS v3. In this "merged publish" environment, the following areas are being published from LCMS v3:
- Main page
- University News
- Our Promise
- About Taylor
- Other miscellaneous pages maintained by Online Communications
We are pleased with that accomplishment and very happy to see that actual content migration has actually started.
However, progress on the LCMS v3 Implementation Initiative was delayed about a month due to a critical bug in how LCMS v3 handles rendering of Web pages. But we applied a fix this morning sent to us by Sungard Higher Education, and it appears that this issue has been resolved. As a result, we anticipate migrating the areas listed below over the following weeks:
- Remaining departments maintained by Online Communications
- Alumni
- Parents
- Giving
- William Taylor Foundation
- Athletics
After completion of those initial areas, we should finally have a good sense of how long this project might take.
