nTreePoint Update

|

Integrating nTreePoint with LDAP has been completed due to some diligent work by IT and Unidigm (the company that produces nTreePoint). This means that individuals can log into nTreePoint using their normal username and password. Permissions still need to be set up from within nTreePoint, but this should make it much easier on both OC and everyone who uses the product. Just one less password you'll have to remember!

With this in place, we're very close to rolling out the product to departments to use for forms. We plan on doing so in conjunction with the LCMS v3 roll out.

Use of nTreePoint for surveys is still up in the air due to concerns with over-sampling of internal audiences.

nTreePoint Update

|

The script allowing us to use our normal network usernames and passwords with the nTreePoint forms/surveys tool has been installed and we will be testing it over the next week. We've run into a couple issues already that we are hoping to resolve.

But the good news is that with this integration soon to be complete, all that is left to do before rolling out the tool for departmental use is to finalize the training materials.

Part of the Taylor and TUFW Public site migration projects, implementation of nTreePoint is continuing. Dan is close to finishing training materials for basic form creation, and we are also actively pursuing LDAP integration to ease logins and account maintenance.

We hope to rollout nTreePoint training for form creation along with the rollout of LCMS v3. A timeline for rollout to departments for creating surveys is uncertain due to concerns raised regarding "over surveying" of our internal constituencies. Discussions with the IRB and Tim Herrmann are being planned.

Forms and Surveys

|

Since we moved to the Luminis Content Management System (LCMS), the University has not had a good way of easily creating and maintaining forms. Either I have had to hand-code a form for departments or else some individuals used a product called Form Artist. Though Form Artist met the need in the interim, it just couldn't do forms and surveys the way the University needed them to be done.

Enter nTreePoint. A powerful and fairly easy to use Web based program, this new tool purchased by the University will enable departments to more easily create and maintain forms and surveys. Some of the forms we've already created and used include:

We are in the process of finalizing implementation of this tool and creation of training materials. We hope to be able to open it up for departments to create and maintain their own forms and surveys in the near future.

Until then, if you have any forms or survey needs, please contact Dan Reeves (dan.reeves@taylor.edu; x84858) or myself. Please note that we will need to prioritize the forms/surveys we create due to the LCMS v3 Implementation Initiative.
